audi a4 gets a lift and bulges

Rumors have been out for awhile that Audi was going to be giving the Allroad treatment to the little brother in the family. These are the first shots of what is assumed to be the 2009 Audi A4 Allroad. From the pictures we can tell that, ummm, well, it sits higher and has matte black fender arches. While I am a huge fan of cars on stilts, the Allroad treatment just looks more at home on the wagon platform. Which is good, because further rumors indicate that the engineers were just testing the platform prior to the wagon’s official unveiling.

Is audi trying to copy Volvo and Subaru here? Comparing the a4 to an allroad a4 is like comparing the legacy to the legacy outback.
