Warner and the Wachowski’s released their trailer for the much anticipated upcoming launch of the Speed Racer re-do. Speed Racer was (and should have remained) a 60’s Japanese cartoon. The trailer looks super weird. About the only redeeming factor the movie seems to have is the cast of characters. Surprised that they were able to get such a cast for what will surely be a direct to DVD movie.
Emilie Hirsch stars as Speed Racer, you would recognize him from Lords of Dogtown and In to the Wild
Christina Ricci, yes she is hot
Susan Sarandon, I had no idea she was still alive
Matthew Fox, the doc from Lost
John Goodman, yeah, the guy from Rosanne

Why shouldn’t this be made? I’m looking forward to it.

I’m sure I will see it… it’s just one of those must see movies because it’s called Speed Racer. I’m sure I won’t enjoy it but atleast I’ll know.

BTW, should we discuss why they are no longer called the “Wachowski brothers”?

Oh I know. Because one of the brothers doesn’t have a weiner anymore.

Two dongs or one, if Movies are going to raid TV and Books for ideas, I’d rather they take something as crappy as Speed Racer and possibly make it amusing, than take something that is actually good in its orginal medium and wreck it.

looks fun to me, and the “Lana” Wachowski is just supposed to be rumor.
