DrivingSports is covering off on a WRX that decided to bite hard and roll end over end seven times. Apparently this happened at Subiefest in 2006, but it is just now making the web. The car was built as a show car, but the owner wanted to prove that it had some track prowess. Somehow, the driver survived the wreck…I have no idea how. Sorry I can’t embed the video…view it here: DrivingSports

I read about this on NASIOC when it happened, and no one would post up the video since Alec was still in the hospital. Glad to know he is fine, and it was a pretty amazing crash.
Goes to show you how much safety barriers and tire fences do to prevent these hill-related flips. If there was something on the edge of the track, he would have some front end damage and probably would have walked away.

DrivingSports is the show that shot my car. I guess now its lucky that all video was lost due to a computer crash because the next time a show or magazine catches my car its going to be much more exciting! It was just a baby back then and now its a beast!!

I think we did lose some nice footage of my car climbing its favorite hill though. I would kill for that video!
btw this footage has been online for a very long time.

^ I thought I saw this a while ago as well.
I assume the car didn’t have a cage?

Wow - although I was expecting the car to actually flip end over end (the ends of a car are the front and back, not the sides), it was still quite something.

i remember reading about this in subiesport. funny that he wanted to prove the car’s track ability, but had someone else drive it instead. that’s a show car owner for ya.
