On Sunday night McLaren speedster Lewis Hamilton was caught with a seriously heavy foot. French police clocked him at 196kph / 126mph. His license to drive in France is now suspended for a month. Authorities aren’t sure if his local license in England will be suspended as well. His car was impounded but released to a friend on Monday. Lewis, if you’re gonna get caught you might as well be doin’ 150mph.

Yeah. Me either. I used to think the Murano was a decent CUV. Now I don’t know what to think. It looks like the bastard step child of a Titan and the Buick Enclave. It’s a sad day for Nissan when a 25 year old male would rather be driving a Buick, than their latest endeavor with the Murano. AutoWeek has more on the changes (boost in power, etc) on their site.
Motor Trend Announces 2008 Truck of the Year (even though it isn’t 2008)

MotorTrend just announced the 2008 Truck of the Year. I know, I kept hitting refresh on their page this morning too. So yeah, the entry late to the full size truck game, just beat all the pros (Dodge, Chevy, Ford). And an interesting bit-o-knowledge via MotorTrend, “Although down 12 percent on 2005, pickup truck sales seemed to be running at close to 2006 levels. Even so, that still meant some 230,000 Americans drove a brand-new pickup off the dealer’s lot every month last year.” Good thing gas prices are going down.

The Redbull Experiment is a a testosterone filled event, much like a frat party, but with less roofies. This year they will be at Ril All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Robiie Maddison (who?) and Rhys Millen will attempt some crazy stuff. What crazy stuff ask you? Well Maddison is going to (attempt) to jump a motorcycle 300 feet. And not die. Millen on the other hand, will attempt the first ever backflip in a vehicle. Follow the jump for information about watching them.

The ‘08 Volvo XC70 is a crossover that can do it all. The larger grille and headlights give it a more agressive look for the new model yaer. The rear was also redesigned by reshaping the tail lights and hatch. Under the hood there’s an upgraded 3.2 L - 6 cylinder engine that puts out 235 horses ( 30 more than ‘07). The new powerplant is mated to a beefier 6 speed tranny. The XC70 is also packed with features like Dynamic Stability and Traction Control, Hill Descent Control, and Collision Warning with Brake Assist. Combine all of this with Volvo’s notorious reputation for safety and you have a great deal at $37,320. Who needs an SUV?

I thought my neighbor sucked, you know for calling the police anytime I had people over to the house. Or if I have a small bonfire in my backyard that goes until the wee hours of 10pm. Yet, he has a tacky ass motorhome/rv/date-rape van in his front lawn (go to the jump for pictures). I digress. But I guess I really don’t have it THIS bad! These Christmas lights are like watching Fantasia on acid. I can’t imagine the amount of seizures induced due to this. But I guess when you live in Ottawa and the only thing you really have to look forward to is Boxing Day, then this is damn near a feat of imaginable proportions. Hell, I didn’t even know they had electricity there yet. If you feel the need to torture yourself, visit their site.

Doing a search for two wheel rally cars, netted me the above video. Please click to watch, the soundtrack is INCREDIBLE. It’s a vignette of the Ford Sierra, RWD rally car. Now back to the topic, Max-Attack and Team O’Neil Rally School have partnered up. Max-Attack started last year and their mission is to “raise the level and awareness of meaningful two-wheel-drive competition in North America. “ Team O’Neil helps lend credibility to the series and in addition is offering up a rally school spot ($4,100 value) by raffling off tickets to support Max-Attack at $10 each. Enter to win a chance here.
