Someone caught some pictures of the 2009 Forester at a dealership in Japan.  Oops, official images were not supposed to be released until sometime next week.  While I am not a huge Forester fan, it certainly looks like this could get the job done if you are looking for a quasi-cross-utility-vehicle.  It appears that the dimensions have grown a bit, making this a bit more Highlander-esque.  We will  most certainly be looking forward to seeing an STI/XT version.

Ford releases sneak peeks of the new STI

I am really getting sick of these “teaser” shots. Everyone seems to be doing it. Porsche did it with the launch of the revised Cayenne. Most of the current pictures of the WRX STI are a dark car, hidden in shadows. But this isn’t about creepy teaser shots. This is about the most bad ass Ford STI Focus RS. I mean this thing just looks wicked. It has bigger shoulders than Mark MacGuire (circa 2003). The bumper, the hood and the arches give this thing an incredible stance. It will be using the five cylinder turbo sourced from Volvo. Rumors suggest the car will be a Montana ranch with 280 horses.

Quick edit: Jalopnik is on the exact same page as us, specifically, linking the pictures of the Cayenne and STI.  You know what they say about great minds… Read the rest of this entry »

TomTom and Google tips and tricks

December 16, 2007

Yeah, so the video is really corny. But now you can hook your TomTom up to you computer (via USB), go to Google Maps and send the address/route to your TomTom. Then save it under favorites so you can readily call it up in the future. TomTom trick two: Iota of Saab92x has made a detailed thread on how to add new voices to your TomTom as well as a source file with at least 20 voices.

I <3 Craig’s List.  Not just for the ability of people to try and sell their 14 year old couch for $900, but also for its incredible entertainment value.  I take special pride in trying to write my ads with a personality.  But this guy is really taking the cake.  According to the seller, “I am sick and tired of getting hit on by milfs in their sexual prime because they think I’m some suave interwebs mogul as I am rearranging my golf clubs to fit more groceries in the massive trunk (yes, you could fit a bike in it). It can also fit at least 2 red haired persons <150 lbs”

His write up is sheer brilliance Read the rest of this entry »

One of our recent members, wonword, recently posted a thread filled with aircooled love. The pictures are quite amazing. Recently, I had noticed that seemed to be an odd trend. Rather than sanding, painting, etc, people were proudly wearing their faded paint. BusinessWeek also picked up on this. According to BW, one of the biggest trends now is not restoring vehicles, but rather preserving them. The dents, the dings, the uneven gaps, those all help tell the story of the car from its initial build to its life on the road. Want to see some more incredibly preserved and pseudo-restored ‘dubs? Check this out!

Have you ever waken up and gone, “man I really, really wish I had some mystical characters airbrushed on the side of my car.”  Never you worry, you are not alone!  Harry Potter Someone else was thinking the exact same thing, this Lexus has dragons, wizards, a unicorn, some castles, etc.  Likely spotted outside of a Magic The Gathering convention.  The Daily Buzzer has 20 more pictures, of this car and various others.  Personal favorites, Tsunami X5 and Fire Leaping Cheetah Stealth.

The person who placed this video on YouTube calls these guys rednecks, but it’s obvious they are well beyond the intelligence level required to consider Skoal one of the main food groups. They spent 15 grand and untold man hours to create this mechanical beast. However, unless each unit comes with a free dental plan, I don’t think they will be hitting the streets until they work out a better any suspension system.

Pictured above is the 730hp Brabus CLS, the power is churned out of a twin turbo V-12. It’s capable of 225mph. According to Concept Cars, that makes it the world’s fastest sedan. Concept Cars has also compiled, “The World’s Finest Police Cars.” Many of them are oldies that you will have seen before, but I just can’t imagine being pulled over by a Lotus Elise.
