Worst parking job I’ve ever seen.

I ran across this before skiing today. I’m not sure how this could have happened without being intentional. Luckily, I keep a stash of youparklikeanasshole.com tickets in my car at all times, and was happy to fill one out for this dipshit person. Amazingly, after a day of skiing, it hadn’t been towed when I returned.

I’ll go ahead and apologize for the low quality of my cameraphone. culture|garage hasn’t quite grown to the level where I’ve been given a corporate spending account needed for a real camera.

Any speculations?

  1. i witnessed this…. idk how it hadn’t been towed

  2. Though the ground doesn’t look like the conditions are icy enough for the following description, I’ll mention it just in case.

I’ve seen something like this before several times in Vermont when we used to go skiing there. We would park in the morning on a parking lot with a slight slope in one direction. We’d go off to ski for the day, and when we returned, nearly all of the cars that had parked in an area that received sunlight during the day had slid down the slope 5-10ft. The top layer of the snow had melted just enough and then frozen to form an ice layer that the car slowly slid down until there no longer was enough direct sunlight to melt it. It was kind of cool looking because whole sections of the parking lot would shift during the day. Unfortunately, not all cars slid exactly alike resulting in lots of door dings.

All of that said, the ground conditions in your picture don’t look like they’d support the scenario I described, but hopefully it was an interesting story anyway. At least now I know where to get the asshole parking tickets :)

This was down near Denver. We haven’t had any major accumulation of snow in the area in the last few weeks. One of the people that was with us confirmed that the lot hadn’t seen anything lately, and that the car wasn’t there the last time he was at the lot.

  4. Is that the lot that is near winter park?

I took my pants of in that lot.

  5. Do you think someone would really park like that on purpose? Up here in Denver we have a meteorological phenomenon known as “snow”. Sometimes this “snow” covers the ground so that you can’t see the lines painted on the parking lot. However, the sun may come out and melt the snow, after the person has parked.

I’ve parked in this very lot (Morrison exit off of I-70) recently and when I was there, much of the surface of the lot was covered in snow. Cut em some slack man!

  6. Yes, the grass covered hillside behind the car leads me to believe there is some SRS snow falling down, and it could have covered the parking lot lines.

  7. Until today, the last snow was eight days ago, and even then it was only an inch, maybe two. I didn’t stick to the ground more than a day or two, especially on the pavement. If they did park back then, I just can’t see how it would be left there for another week.

Was the car a manual or an automatic? I had something similar happen to me once, when I was in a hurry and thought I’d left the car in first. No harm was done, but my car did roll out of its space. That’s my guess as to what happened.

Either that or the driver actually does just park like an asshole.
