1 CommentThe VW Touran is a multi-purpose-vehicle (read: quasi-Mini-van) that rolls on a stretched VW Golf platform. According to Car Magazine, VW is rushing to introduce the new Touran to save costs, as the new Touran will share the MK6 Golf chassis. Apparently the MK6 Chassis, is cheaper and quicker to produce. Here’s more info on the Touran and a few more pictures after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
So maybe you have some dirty habits, be it dumping bodies in the lake/ocean/river, or making out with the lawn boy, or visiting the seedy area of town. No worries, no one is going to judge you… especially if you are behind the wheel of a Prius. Little known fact Jesus Prius will make all of your sins go away. These “ads” were done by David Krulik, I am assuming that these are spec ads (ads created to bolster one’s portfolio) as I haven’t seen them run anywhere and it doesn’t carry Toyota’s tagline. What’s better than owning a Porsche 997 GT3 RS? Owning a matching pair of shoes to heel-and-toe and look good doing it.
For those in the know, the Nike Air Max Light is a classic, most shoe aficionados have at least one pair of them stashed in the closet somewhere.
Dutch sneaker boutique Purchaze teamed up with creative collective Leyp to create the Nike Air Max Light GT3 RS, a Porsche themed Nike Air Max.
This relationship began when the Purchaze team acquired a Porsche Cayman S for promotional purposes. The Air Max Light was in essence returning the favor. The four colors seen here are all based on four colors of the GT3 RS on the market. You will find also the Porsche crest logo on the tongue.
On the 27th of December Leyp and Purchaze presented the four pairs to the Porsche staff, who are going to wear these kicks in their Porsche racing crews’ pit team. All of the Porsche members were very thrilled about their GT3 RS shoes, also because these are even rarer than the exclusive cars they make.

Barrett Jackson will be auctioning off 42 of the Monster Garage creations. Pictured above is the 1950 Ford Woody Surfmobile. During the build they swapped in a Bronco motor and transfer case to send the power to all four wheels. And as is typical of anything Jesse James touches, it has big custom chrome wheels and a prominent West Coast Choppers crest. The show started out pretty interesting and then began to stray down hill as they ran out of ideas. Check out Barrett Jackson for the rest of the listings. It should be noted that while Barrett Jackson may be awesome at auctioning, their strong point is NOT interactive usability so have fun dealing with the pop ups and a choppy video that continues to reload.

Police in Tulsa are testing a new device called “the rumbler” that not only emits a much louder and deeper tone than past sirens, but also will let motorists feel their seat vibrate from up to 70 yards away.
Cops say it’s useful for when people just don’t get out of the way or don’t notice the regular siren. Critics say it could cause hearing damage.
Each rumbler costs about $400 and is also in use in Washington, DC, New York, Pennsylvania and Florida.
The real question is, can I get one mounted on my car? Then again, those soccer moms on cell phones probably need a tactical nuclear strike before they get out of the way.

More advertising fun from across the pond. This one was done by an agency in Germany, for Jeep. Some of it is a bit morbid, “a truck was sliding into them and from then on there were four.” But… you get what they are preaching.

While rumors of this had started coming out back in the summer, no one was quite sure of the sincerity of it. “We are deliberating whether to launch smaller models than the Golf in the US market,” Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn said in an interview with Handelsblatt at the Detroit auto show. This is the automaker’s first consideration of models smaller than the Golf in the U.S.
Winterkorn said: “I will ask the question this week when I meet with our 600 dealers in the U.S.: ‘Do you need the VW Polo?’”
I have a funny feeling that dealers will overwhelmingly say, “Ja!” With success of cars like the Fit, Scion, Versa, etc, it seems entirely plausible that they would bing the Polo over.
