The evolution of auto logos

This is a really cool find, Neatorama has chronicled the evolution of automotive logos. In most cases it also lists the derivation of the design, etc. My favorites are the pre - WWI VW and the 1930’s Saab.

Edit: looks like the Neatorama site has crashed, hopefully it will be back up soon.

  1. the neatorama link doesn’t work, but the early VW logos are pretty neat. The only mistake i see on the saab one is that the “Saab technologies,” IIRC, is not a spin off of scania. They are actually the company that makes Shoulder launched rockets for the military. Next time i’m home, i’ll scan in the information packet i have about the saab rockets from Saab Technologies.
