Since it’s Saturday as I write this, I thought it appropriate to find something a little different, but still pertinent to current automotive events. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you…the TANGO!
Appearing to come from the “roman-nose” school of design, the Tango is an electric vehicle, touted by the parent company, Commuter Cars, Co. as a fun alternative to the other EV’s out there. By fun, Commuter Cars mean 1/4 mile times in the 12-second range, autocross athleticism, and an NHRA and SCCA-spec rollcage built into each vehicle.

Yes, friends, that is a burnout, powered by nothing but a few batteries. This thing is truly, uh, different, but it’s definitely something to check out. See more of the Tango here!

Those pictures look like a Salvador Dali painting.

It takes two…but does it seat two? I’ll take my cars powered by engines using a highly explosive liquid fuel, please.

Is this thing still vaporware, or can you really seriously get one of these now? I remember reading about these.. at least 5 years ago, when I was in high school still !

This thing has been around for a few years, kansei.
George Clooney even owns one.

Unfortunately, they’ve only been selling their high-end, $108,000 model. Now that the Tesla is being sold, I don’t see how the tango can survive unless a production model comes out.
