I want this job. Autocar tested the new GT-R vs the E92 M3 vs the Porsche GT3. The test is pretty unbiased. The GT-R and GT3 trounce the M3. The Nissan pulls quicker track times, got to 60mph and 100mph a full second ahead of the Porsche. But some good points were brought up. The GT3 is just more visceral, it’s a challenge, whereas with the GT-R it’s consistent reliable performance that any old person could get into and make fast.
My favorite quote was: “What we are saying is that a car that is made by a company that used to be called Datsun is as good as the best 911 Porsche ever made.”
The second part of the video is after the break.

GT-R > GT3 > Fiat 500 > M3
The new M3 is just disappointing for its money.

I dunno, I think I’d rather have the Porsche. It looks better, sounds better, and I don’t believe it has a nanny telling you when to go to the track and when not to. Interesting video, though.

No one else finds the GT-R utterly boring? A super fast, computerized video game car came to life? Power doesn’t impress me anymore; I’d sooner have a standard 911 than some computer on wheels.

gt-r….boring. i’m all about the tactile, keeping my hands full, driver-car connectedness. of course, i screamed bloody murder when lotus decided to put a/c in the elise, so i’m hardly your average import tuner.
