Spotted on BimmerForums, this poor guy was cruising down the highway in his E36 when all of the sudden wheels that look to have been fired off of a Donk waxed his car. The damage to the car sucks. But let’s be realistic, cars can be replaced…life can’t. Luckily, the driver survived, minus a hole in his throat, a potentially broken shoulder and abrasions from the splintered glass. Atlanta Dragway- Ashley Force was the winner this weekend in Atlanta, taking down her father, John Force, in the final round. It was an all-around good weekend for Castrol/ John Force Racing, with the patriarch coming in second, and Ford-linked Bob Tasca III going down in the semis to Force. It was a historic day in Funny Car, where if senior Force were to win, it would have been his one-bazillionth career win, and having Ashley win gave her both her first overall victory, and the first victory by a female in Funny Car, one of the most hotly contested categories in the PowerADE drag racing series. On that note, “Full Throttle,” a Coca-Cola brand, will be sponsoring the series beginning next year, with a contract to do so until 2013. Read the rest of this entry »

If you read last week’s Question of the Week, you know that I’m a huge fan of Jaguar E-Types, especially of the V-12 variety. Although the Jag straight six is a wonderful engine, you can’t match the WWII Spitfire sound that a Jag V-12 produces, it’s just magic for the ears. In browsing YouTube, I actually stumbled across this video of a ‘73 E-Type blasting down a few roads, engine at full yap. I really envy the driver- that is one beautiful Jag, being driven on a beautiful fall day-the perfect kind of day for spirited motoring. This is another one of those “turn your speakers up” videos-so give it a listen.
Have a great weekend, folks!

It used to be on any given day, one could flip on the local news and watch some criminal in a stolen car careen around a freeway from the view of a helicopter. While the highlights of these escapades give us great shows such as “World’s Wildest Police Videos,” we can all agree that high speed chases aren’t a good thing.
Earlier this week GM invited culture|garage to a demonstration of their newest OnStar technology. Dubbed Stolen Vehicle Slowdown, or SVS, this feature allows OnStar (coupled with local law enforcement) to kill the engine power of a stolen vehicle. Read the rest of this entry »

So last time I posted pictures of the E92 M3 Individual ordered coupe in Dakar Yellow and right now on eBay Motors you have the chance of owning 1 of the 2 Imola Yellow Audi RS6 that currently are in the United States. This color was never offered for the RS6 and once again it cost the original owner a couple thousand dollars to paint to spec. Personally I’ve always been a fan of anything Imola Yellow (whether it may be the 2003 VW GTI 20th Anniversary Edition, Audi S4/RS4, or even the Audi TT) and this RS6 simply looks stunning and it doesn’t get rarer than that.

Undoubtedly, you have seen plenty 05+ Mustangs on the street, and the Dodge Challenger is making its way to dealerships nationwide. The Chevy Camaro is due out before too long, sure to please the bowtie faithful. But with all this going on, are we seeing a resurgence of the muscle car, or is that era dead and gone? Although I still lust after RWD, V8 musclecars, I believe the latter to be true. Read the rest of this entry »

This one is for Leigh, a contributor and photographer who joined me at NYIAS, she stood and drooled over the modest Spyker display.
Anyways, Emil, from autogespot sent this through thinking it might be of interest to our American readers. Apparently the Aileron is powered by an Audi-sourced 400hp engine. As you can see this “spy shot” is more a shot of a test mule. The car has the C8 front end, but the ass-end just looks all sorts of messed up.
Anyone here a fan of the Spykers? I like them, but I was never a huge fan of them. For the $200,000+ price point I can think of a lot of other things I would like to buy…namely a Nissan GTR, a Cayenne GTS and an 08 STI, the remaining $14,000 I would just put in the bank.
More pictures on Emil’s site.
