I love to read- I have a shelf fulla books to prove it. Getting more to the point, this week I’m interested in your library. With the number of magazines, books and other media out there regarding cars, there are all sorts of choices in automotive writing.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a crumpled copy of Car Craft or a dogeared shop manual, reading and automobiles go hand-in-hand. Sometimes it goes no further than sitting on a phonebook and turning the wheel as a kid, but for most enthusiasts, books become part of life, if not necessity. British car owners seem to be particularly fond of Lucas manuals, for instance. That said, What car/truck/motorcycle books are you reading, if any? While I may be a bit of a nerd, my collection has more than a few interesting titles, including Muscle Car Confidential by Joe Oldham, Mopar Muscle: Fifty Years by Robert Genat, and Side Glances by Peter Egan. Currently, I’m reading Building 4.6/5.4L Ford Horsepower on the Dyno by Richard Holdener. But enough about me, what say you?

I used to read magazines constantly. But with all of the blogs and forums, there is no point. I am reading stuff today that won’t show up in print for at least another month…if not two.

I agree with Topher, lately all the stuff I’m reading in all the mags I get I have seen the content 1-2 months before, but I still subscribe to them anyway (4 car mags: Modified, Sport Compact Car, european car, eurotuner) need something to read while in WC.

I grab an Automotive Engineering (from SAE International) from the rack in the engineering building every month, but the rest of the mags i get are ski mags. AE has some cool shit in it though. Lots of super high tech shit, and page after page after page of sensors and stuff you can buy for testing and what not.
neat articles on high tech stuff, like the one that sitting here has an article on HCCI, Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition, basically, the motor both diesels and uses a spark, to eliminate a flame front, and is more efficient…

CarCraft, and Hotrod are in the “library.”
I also refer to Steven Dove’s Guide to Buick Performance Engines, 1964-87 and the Motor auto repair manual from from 64ish to 76 domestic.
but spend most of my reading time on http://www.v8buick.com
