So in case you didn’t get your fill of Denver Auto show last week, I’ll be posting my “b” roll this week, divided into loosely defined categories. Today the makes of the Germanic persuasion get their day in the sun. Oh, and I’m obviously not…how you say…a professional photographer, so don’t set your hopes up too high. More pictures after the jump.

The above shots were of the VW R32- I thought the engine-turned pieces in the door panels and dash were really handsome- otherwise one would be stuck looking at yards of varying shades of plastic.

Here’s the old Rabbit mentioned in my original post- not exactly awe-inspiring, but different strokes for different folks, eh?

This Passat’s interior was exceptional for VW, the wood made me think back to the Jaguar XJ-which used very similar woodgrain panels.

Passat exhaust tips FTW.

This Audi cockpit was really well-designed, it felt like sitting in a fighter plane in there.

I have always envied the looks of Audi’s engine bays, and this is no exception. Notice no plastic shrouds, no crummy baubles, just perfectly aligned coil packs, trim, sleek looking valve covers and a cleanly-cast intake manifold.

The “eeech”-tastic BMW X6.

And, of course, the obligatory wheel shots for Bart.

I enjoyed looking through the photos in this post and your original article. I went to the Denver Auto Show on the first day, and despite sitting in about three dozen cars, somehow I missed, say, the fantastic interior of the VW Passat, or that an HHR was hanging from the ceiling (maybe it wasn’t the first night).
My main disagreement was about the Pontiac Solstice, but admittedly, I have a liking for that car since so many things about it (like the twin-kidney grill) remind me of MGAs of yore.
I posted my photos from the show here:

I hope the X6 fails epically. It deserves to fail worse than any car I can think of.
