This car screams hotness. Of course, I also have a wagon fetish. Subaru will be selling 402 of these beautiful cars. Unfortunately, not in the US. They will come in sedan and wagon (touring) variant. Features 282hp, six speed manual tranny, subtle STI body work, six pot front and two pot rear Brembo brakes, gorgeous 18″ BBS wheels. Check out CarScoop for more pictures.

I want this car, but it’s obvious why Subaru isn’t selling it here. Americans don’t care much for Subarus. Generally, we’d rather buy Toyotas or Hondas. More bang for the buck. We’d also generally rather to buy SUVs than wagons. Less bang for the buck.
We’re complicated.

Raza, I completely hear you about Subaru in general. I think for limited-run cars like this though, there are enough niche enthusiasts that will pick them up. It’s more marketing than anything though. Look at the Impreza STi; I had never seen a commercial for one until very recently. I think they are also selling many more than they have in past years, so they may be making an actual profit at this point.
The idea is to have the WRC car to show you what is possible and let it fly the flag for you, and you know your car get some of the love from the innovation that goes into competing. Therefore advertising doesn’t need to be that great. The STi I think is just there to appease those who want to see what else can be done, but I would be it’s not really a money maker like the base model impreza is.
