‘Vette Time Capsules Found in Barn

We all have dreams of finding that amazing car, hiding under a sheet or in a back alley, a bit weatherbeaten, obviously ignored, but ripe for the taking-for the right price. For some, it’s a P 1800 far from it’s icy Swedish home, awaiting a good restoration. For others, nothing beats finding a tri-five Chevy tucked away in an old service bay. For very few, the dream comes true, and the dust-coated dropcloths come off of the cars in a flourish of history, lore and excitement. For Charlie Lillard, the dream became his in a tiny California barn. Read the rest of this entry »

Screw ramps, watch this.

Clearly this Bobcat operator’s talent far exceeds the norm.  This obviously wasn’t in the States, because there aren’t 17 other union workers standing around holding slow signs or smoking cigarettes.  Speaking of slow sign holders…it’s never fun to think that your job could be replaced by a bucket of sand.

And no one died of Dysentery.  But a lot of people crashed their cars, among them, Sarasin, Block and Mirra.  Apparently, the road was crowned (higher in the center and sloping down towards the ditch) and if you came in off the race line you were probably going to be visiting a ditch.  While Pastrana took first place overall, Andrew Comrie-Picard, in his Evo 9, placed second.  ACP’s finish took him to first place in the lead for the championship.  Full race results can be found on Rally America’s site.

You have probably seen the much more dull versions of this running on TV.  Well here is a version that was pieced together…which will never air, that is a whole lot more fun.  Except for the second guy, the white dude with the blue shirt.  He seems kind of douchebaggy.

Spotted on AdRants (check out the site for a couple more).  I am fairly unimpressed with the ads.  While adrants cites an agency, these really feel like spec or concept work.  Besides, does Lambo even need to advertise?  Regardless, it’s pretty good art direction.

Insert weiner joke here.  Looks like gas prices are effecting the folks at Oscar Mayer, who have recently downsized from their much larger weinermobile and are now cruising around in a Mini Cooper based weiner wagon.  Ripped off from CarScoop.

OMG. Hot. Legacy STI S402

This car screams hotness.  Of course, I also have a wagon fetish.  Subaru will be selling 402 of these beautiful cars.  Unfortunately, not in the US.  They will come in sedan and wagon (touring) variant.  Features 282hp, six speed manual tranny, subtle STI body work, six pot front and two pot rear Brembo brakes, gorgeous 18″ BBS wheels.  Check out CarScoop for more pictures.

A lambo, a trailer and a chopper

Clearly this guy is humble.  The pictured Gallardo was pulling a trailer loaded with a custom chopper painted in a matching yellow.  Spotted on Bikes in the Fast Lane.
