The new Camro has landed, completing the Pony Car trifecta that has been promised for so many years. These are truly amazing times, as you can get a 4.6 Mustang with 300 horses, tons of torque, the potential for more power through your local Ford dealer and looks that could kill. The Challenger has made it’s debut, and has been selling like hotcakes, even with ADM. A Hemi, wrapped in a tough-looking body and an authoritative slathering of Hemi orange makes Mopar fans drool. The Camaro has dropped too, and looks to be a promising machine, and will have plenty of bowtie fans flocking Chevy dealerships. So this week, I ask- of the three pony cars now available, which one would you buy, and in what configuration?

For me, the choice has been simple. Ever since high school, I have lusted after the achingly good looks and epic sound of the new Mustang. Sure, it has the smallest engine of all of the current choices, but the foglights, the fastback roofline and the potential for modification make the car to great to pass up. Not to mention that a GT is relatively cheap to purchase and drive (roundabout 30 MPG on a good day of highway driving) and the fact that all I have to do is go as far as my local Ford dealer for performance parts makes the Mustang my chariot of choice, although the new Camaro and Challenger are attractive choices. It would be Grabber Orange, with a spoiler delete, automatic transmission, 4.6 V8 (of course), base-model wheels, leather interior, aluminum dash trim and a base-model audio system. But enough with my hokey picks, what say you?
