Add a CommentOk, being a rally driver in its own, is pretty freaking cool, right? But I guess there are other perks. Like going to Willow Springs and beating the crap out of some Subarus for a test session. Awesome.

As gas prices steadily increase (OK that’s a lie, CNN said national average was down one cent), a lot of people are considering things like carpooling, riding, and public transportation. Trek has one upped it. You can pledge miles that you will ride a bike. It shows the carbon emissions that you are cutting down on as well as gas money saved and calories burned. Pretty cool little tool. Click on the image above to visit the site. Have fun playing around!

The new Camro has landed, completing the Pony Car trifecta that has been promised for so many years. These are truly amazing times, as you can get a 4.6 Mustang with 300 horses, tons of torque, the potential for more power through your local Ford dealer and looks that could kill. The Challenger has made it’s debut, and has been selling like hotcakes, even with ADM. A Hemi, wrapped in a tough-looking body and an authoritative slathering of Hemi orange makes Mopar fans drool. The Camaro has dropped too, and looks to be a promising machine, and will have plenty of bowtie fans flocking Chevy dealerships. So this week, I ask- of the three pony cars now available, which one would you buy, and in what configuration? Read the rest of this entry »

Pacific Raceways, Seattle, WA- Tony Bartone. What, never heard of him? That’s a shame, as he is one of the most talented drivers in the NHRA, and he just took his first Funny Car victory over the weekend. A veteran of alcohol racing, Bartone hadn’t managed to take an overall win in 119 starts in his professional career. 119. Read the rest of this entry »

In a brief 4:00 EST reveal at GM’s Warren facility, Ed Wellburn and Ed Peper- a couple of the big shots in charge of the Camaro project, gave a short scpiel discussing the car and it’s fantasicalness. While the crowd of journalists looked on, the production car rolled into the studio, and was set upon by said journalists soon after. Meanwhile, over at 5thgen.org, site staff posted the color palette and technical specs for the General-Motivated pony car. Big thanks to Jalopnik for posting a feed of the live reveal on their site.

In Chris’s post from a couple of weeks ago, readers, writers and other gawkers here at c|g clashed over the idea of Adam Corolla hosting Top Gear America. Some agreed that Corolla wasn’t the best choice for the series, others lauded NBC’s efforts, and thought Corolla would be the man for the job. I happen to disagree, and want to find out who you would cast if you were in the driver’s seat at NBC. Read the rest of this entry »

Bandimere Speedway, Morrison, Co.- Tinfoil-hat wearing panicmongers and their followers (this author included) cast a grim eye on the action on Sunday at Bandimere, as the NHRA tested it’s inagural 1,000-foot contest in both Top Fuel and Funny Car. Although the four horsemen did not ride out of the clouds this past weekend, several winners emerged once all was said and done. Read the rest of this entry »

One of our readers in Atlanta spotted this gem of backyard/redneck engineering, while he was visiting the local parts store. The VW guys will love the opposite drive staggered wheels and the “poke.” All in all, this is a pretty sweet Caravan. I love that he utilized the hatch as the back of the “cab.” Sheer genius.
