Brainerd Raceway, Brainerd, Minn.- The NHRA is coming to Minnie-soda this weekend, and hopefully Chris will be reporting to Brainerd to experience some straight-line racing…or at least some fine funnel cakes. Oh, and according to the website description, there’s plenty of good fishing…so if the racing isn’t exactly enthralling, you can munch on some Pike with your funnel cakes. Anyhow, all of the racing can be seen on ESPN 2, with Qualifying being shown on the 9th from 6-8PM, Eliminations on the 10th, from 10PM to 1AM, and a repeat of Eliminations on the 13th, from 3-5AM. All times EST.

Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, Pa.- Carl Edwards broke up what was going to be a Toyota-dominated series, as he and crewchief Bob Osborne played the fuel mileage game, bringing home Edwards’ fourth win this year in the Sprint Cup series, and kicking him up to places in the overall points standings, to third. Roush-Fenway racing also certainly needed the win, as Toyota had been railroading the series until this past weekend, with current points leader Kyle Busch making circular driving look easy. Tony Stewart brought up second in his Toyota, while Jimmie Johnson took third in his Chevrolet.
