Looks like the ‘ol UAW gremlins are at it again. This week, GM has announced a massive recall on recently manufactured vehicles due to a major fault in the windshield wiper system. It catches on fire.Yep, that’s right, fire. The system designed to heat windshield washer fluid prior to it being sprayed on windshields is defective, and nine separate cases document the ramifications of said defect. The vehicles affected are: the 2008 Buick Enclave, 2006-2008 Buick Lucerne, 2006-2008 Cadillac DTS, versions of the 2007-2008 Cadillac Escalade, 2007-2008 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban, 2007-2008 GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL, 2006-2008 Hummer H2 and 2007-2008 Saturn Outlook. The numbers of vehicles affected are reported to be close to one million. No word yet on whether the Blazer will live up to it’s namesake.
