4 CommentsEvery once in awhile, we bring you something completely unrelated to cars. But hey, usually they are pretty cool. As you were watching the Olympics you probably saw this commercial. It’s a brand spot for Nike. It was produced by Wieden and Kennedy and is called “Courage.” You probably recognize most of the faces, surgery photos of Lance Armstrong, Jordan kissing the trophy, to John McEnroe. The music is the Killer’s, “All these things that I’ve done.”
Other than looking like an idiot while using a Segway, there are other concerns to be had. One of those concerns would be if you ran full speed into the side of car. The results are pretty funny, click the above picture to watch. Not only does the dummy appear to crush his wrists and arms, but he also manages to bop his head on the roof. Let this be a lesson, never ride on a Segway. Ever. Unless you are a cop in the airport. Via Engadget.

Let me begin with that I fell in love with this car last Thursday when we were being passed by a sparkling silver Passat CC in Krakow on the way to the airport, it had such a presence on the road that you wouldn’t expect it for a car that will be priced starting in America under $27,000. My family has an 05 SRX that I was pleasantly surprised by, minus the sea of plastic in the interior. Well Cadillac has mades some pretty dramatic changes to the look of the 2010 SRX, due in dealers late 2009. But from the press release (after the jump), we really learn nothing else, nothing about the power plant, etc.

So, as y’all may or may not know, grad school is now fully upon me, so I won’t be updating the blog as often as I’d like. However, when I find interesting tidbits, I’ll do my best to throw them on the site. Today, I found this video posted over at Mustangblog.com, of a “new edge” Mustang lighting the hides in slo-mo. Allegedly, the car is good for 10-sec 1/4 mile times, but the real grabber here is the artistry of such a simple shot, showcasing the smoke hanging in the air, and the excellent choice of music to go along with the film. Please enjoy!

You have probably heard about the new 2009 Subaru WRX. Subaru has done some substantial changes to this model. A significant bump in power (265hp), revised suspension, the STI grille and spoiler all make this a pretty sweet package. See more at subaru.com/animal.
With the press embargo now lifted and the official launch correlated to the X Games, you will begin seeing web videos and commercials featuring the WRX and the STI. The commercials are produced by Carmichael Lynch and can be seen on the likes of ESPN, Spike, etc. Above, you have Burn Rubber and below you have a humorous take on a driver’s ed video. Enjoy.

Guys…I am so sorry. While I was being a GIAN douchebag packing for my move, I have been completely neglecting my duties- which are minimal, to say the least. Suffice it to say that I apologise to the readership and hope that you keep reading (and responding to) the articles we all write here. Anyhow, this week’s question has to do with mostly ‘Merican iron, although other makes/models have found their way into this facet of cardom. Read the rest of this entry »

By now you have probably heard of the horrendous bus slaughter. Where a man apparently went ape shit and attacked a sleeping man, stabbing him multiple times and eventually beheading him. Seriously, someone did not get beat enough as a kid. Wow. What’s also unfortunate, is Greyhound was currently running an advertising campaign that stated, There’s a reason you’ve never heard of “bus rage.” All of the ads are currently being pulled from publications.
