Add a CommentRealistically the car isn’t that bad looking. But even though the commercial has some great production and features a kick ass cover of Bowie’s “Space Oddity” by Cat Power…I am unlikely to buy a Lincoln. Until I am using a walker. Props to Berlin Cameron for some great work and goosebump making music selection. Even if the song is about drugs.

File this under the “awesome, but you have way too much time on your hands” category. This guy spent 4-5 months making this 32 valve V-8. Crazy. Check out some of the pictures from the build on BrickShelf.
Thanks Blix for the tip. So somewhere in Hollywood a lady was in an accident. Gauging from the pictures she somehow tipped and put the car into a roll. By some luck she landed on an abandoned couch. Apparently, the couch helped soften the blow and she was able to walk away. Check out more images on Rick McClure’s flickr set.
Bored with your car’s color? The latest car craze recently seems to be instead of a full on color change paint job, people now are doing full-body wraps with vinyl. The popular choice seems to be matte black, whether it may be this Audi B7 RS4 Avant or a brand new Nissan GT-R which has been posted all over the car forums on the Internet.

These are the first official images of the production Fiat 500 Abarth esseesse (SS) that have hit the web right before the Paris Motor Show.
The esseesse is fitted with a full aero kit consisting of a new front fascia, lower side skirts, a redesigned rear bumper housing a diffuser with pair of chrome exhaust tips, and small spoiler complete the appearance package. Blinding white 17-inch wheels fill the wheel wells quite nicely.
Engine specs are unknown at this time, but expect to see the turbocharged 1.4-liter to put around 160 hp through a six-speed manual along with a Q2 Torsen C limited slip differential. Interior upgrades include heavily bolstered bucket seats, red trim, and Abarth logos here and there.

Explaining all wheel drive and how it works can sometimes be very confusing. Sure, most of us car people understand it, but how about the general car buying public? As all wheel drive systems become more and more advanced, it gets even more difficult. Audi and their agency BBH (of London) have done a beautiful job in “Grip” giving representation into how it works. It’s nice to see the agency that gave you the funky Axe commercials, can also give you work like this.

Rennlist is one of the largest Porsche enthusiasts forums and the owners have decided to kick it up a notch. They have started a charitable cause, called Rennwish, where they raise money to contribute to “changing the lives of children and families in need by providing food, shelter, clothing, education, and medical assistance.”
To help draw more attention to the cause (and raise some money), female members of the forum have posed with their Porsche models and will be featured in a club calendar. All of the women are “real,” i.e. not professional models, a la Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty. To view and purchase a calendar check out their website.
Nice to see forum members giving back. Even nicer to see Laura/Sunshine posing like a tiger between Porsche 911s.
Big thanks to John from 993C4S for pointing this out to us.

Allegro Medical, is doing a kind of cool promotional thingy. They have listed the above wheel chair on their site for $300,000. The write up is pretty funny. Looks like they are doing this to garner attention to their site and their other products. Pretty cool and cheap way to attract traffic to the site.
