Colorado’s newest course: Ring of the Rockies

Thanks to Jonathan for the tip. More and more it seems like private tracks and car country clubs are popping up. One of the most famous is IL's Autobahn Country Club. This one in Colorado is just another one to add to the list of potential tracks seeking sponsors and investors. And it certainly makes me wish I lived in Colorado and had trash cans full of money. The about us reads like a who's who and all seem fairly credible and established, however the creative director deserves a kick in the nads for the web design.

Anyways, the track is attempting to be the Nurburgring of North America and if they get established, it could be just that. And say you get bored just cresting hills at 130mph, that's ok you can take to the ATV course, or the skid pador hell even the spa.

Hopefully, the folks at the track keep in touch, I would love to get one of our contributers there to take pictures and check out the progress. Check out pictures and plans on their site. Full press release after the jump.

Motor Sport Country Club Has the Answer to Your "Need for Speed'

Lakewood, CO (July 15, 2008) – Motor Sport Country Club, located in picturesque Agate, Colorado, less than an hour from Denver, is the new, premier destination for motor sport enthusiasts. Nestled inside the 2500 acre The Ring of the Rockies Resort, Motor Sport Country Club (MSCC) is the first club of its kind. MSCC allows motor sport enthusiasts to speed around its truly state of the art track while still enjoying all the luxuries traditional country clubs have to offer.

MSCC doesn't offer just a standard oval race track, but a truly challenging and first class road course that offers something for the novice driver to the experienced racer. To help create such a masterpiece, MSCC enlisted the help of famed Formula 1 track designer, Herman Tilke. Using The Nuerburgring in Germany as inspiration, Tilke fully utilized the rolling hills and curves of the Colorado landscape to create a unique and state of the art track. Drivers can enjoy tight curves while turning it out in the straight-aways, or feel the adrenaline in speeding over a hill at 130 mph or more. As Hermann Tilke explains, "We create the room for drivers to push the envelope but still be safe with the help of very generous safety run offs."

In addition to racing, the resort offers miles of off road terrain for ATVs and dirt bikes, a skid pad to train evasive maneuvering and car control, garages to store your car, and even a driving school for the beginner or pro looking to sharpen their driving skills. Also, MSCC offers a futuristic style clubhouse for fine dining, a relaxing spa, a Pro Shop, and well-appointed boarding facilities. There are also plans to add a private landing strip with hangars in the future for the jet-setting racing enthusiasts.

MSCC is currently accepting applications for founding members. For more information, or to become a member, please visit: http://theringoftherockies.com.
