New Maxima a little disapponting

I think the main idea was that the CVT was always in the most efficient point on the curve. To me, that means slow. I guess you could tune it higher and always be at the highest performing part of the curve and have a good time.

Main change (aside from the fact that it weighs a thousand pounds more) is that it’s now only available with a soul-sucking CVT transmission.
You all owe it to yourself to drive a Nissan with a CVT.
Or do yourself a favor and just lookup an Altima or Maxima with the CVT on youtube –make sure it’s one with the V6 too.
What a terrible, terrible sound/feel. I think the epitome of a terrible drivetrain would be a small turbo 4-cyl with a CVT. CVT itself gives more of a turbo lag feel than my turbo 4-cyl, but without ever leading to an amazing rush of power, just constant RPM :’(
the first time you drive one you keep thinking there’s a clutch slipping somewhere too. So miserable.
If they put “4DSC” on this Maxima (the teaser photos they released had it in the traditional location and everything) I’ll lose it. Give it a real manual transmission or else!
