No matter how awesome you think you are, this guy is better
Kurt Kossmann was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age of 17. So while most of us were screwing off in high school, Kurt was having his leg amputated above the knee and going through chemotherapy. Then to top it all off, Kurt was given only a 30% chance of survival.
Good news is, Kurt survived. And like many others who have conquered cancer, he went on to kick ass. While in the hospital he worked on designing a prosthetic limb that would still allow him to shift (see Kurt was into cars and motorcycles since 14). And again, while more than half the US population can't drive stick, this guy designed a fake leg that would allow him to operate a manual transmission. Yeah. This guy could totally kick Chuck Norris' ass.
Kurt has now been racing in various forms of motorsport for the last 20 years from the Grand Am series to the Porsche Turbo Cup. And this year he will be driving a GT-3 in the 24 Hours of Daytona.
Kurt takes to the track in his 911 GT-3 on the 24th for the 24 Hours of Daytona. Please consider contributing to Guardian Angel Motorsports and Children's Hospital Boston, click here.
