Optimum Car Wax, let me tell you about it.

I've owned my Saab 9-2X since June 2005 and it's never been waxed or clayed, but washed regularly, at least once every 2 weeks. (Don't flame me!) I simply don't have the time to be rubbing out my car in the shade for it to be super shiny and smooth as it's parked in the street all year long and all that work would be wasted, plus I have no experience with orbital buffers, claying, polishing, and whatnot. I'd do more damage to that paint than good.

Recently I have found out about Optimum Car Wax Version ll (a spray wax with a combination of high-grade Carnauba wax, sealant polymers and UV inhibitors forms a protective layer on the painted surface to protect the paint from sun damage and environmental elements for up to 5 months). Optimum Car Wax is available for sale at the Midwest Detailing Supply. The company is ran by 2 guys that I know personally from a local car forum and all the products sold by them are used on a regular basis as both have detailing gigs on the side catering to higher-end cars and enthusiast rides.

The process for this wax was super easy, after the car was washed and dried thoroughly, I simply sprayed on and wiped to dry with a microfiber towel, seems easy enough for me and super fast. Slight swirling that I've had before on the car was covered just about fully, paint was nice and smooth to the touch and finally again water beads on the surface of the car. For the extra twenty minutes that it takes to apply this product after a wash I will definitely continue using it for the years to come.
