The new 2009 Subaru WRX

You have probably heard about the new 2009 Subaru WRX.  Subaru has done some substantial changes to this model.  A significant bump in power (265hp), revised suspension, the STI grille and spoiler all make this a pretty sweet package.  See more at subaru.com/animal.

With the press embargo now lifted and the official launch correlated to the X Games, you will begin seeing web videos and commercials featuring the WRX and the STI.  The commercials are produced by Carmichael Lynch and can be seen on the likes of ESPN, Spike, etc.  Above, you have Burn Rubber and below you have a humorous take on a driver’s ed video.  Enjoy.

Nissan GTR on Top gear test track

Excellent video of the GTR getting romped on. By now you are probably sick of seeing videos and reading about how incredible this car is. However, TopGear always seems to one up everyone. So enjoy Jeremy having his neck broke by a “Datsun.”

Warren, MI- Here’s the news that everyone nobody saw coming- the Chevrolet Camaro is back. In a brief 4:00 EST reveal at GM’s Warren facility, Ed Wellburn and Ed Peper- a couple of the big shots in charge of the Camaro project, gave a short scpiel discussing the car and it’s fantasicalness. While the crowd of journalists looked on, the production car rolled into the studio, and was set upon by said journalists soon after. Meanwhile, over at 5thgen.org, site staff posted the color palette and technical specs for the General-Motivated pony car. Big thanks to Jalopnik for posting a feed of the live reveal on their site.

There’s a segment of the muscle car domain that breaks from the norm, in that going around corners is just as important as going fast- it’s called “pro touring.” Although they are much-hyped, Air Ride Technologies has just completed the latest “pro-tourer,” and although I am loathe to offer praise to a car built solely for marketing purposes, I have to admit, this car is (in my best preteen parlance) freakin’ awesome.
