The Alfa 8C Competizione. Probably the finest Alfa-Romeo to come out of Italy- it flows, it’s powerful, and it is the sweetheart of many auto-journos worldwide. In fact, Alfa-Romeo has a proud history of being the heartthrob of any and all car enthusiasts who hate themselves enough to go through the perpetual struggle that is an Alfa. So what about you? Could you give up your STi for one? Read the rest of this entry »

Yes, folks, that’s right, Ford has revived it’s drag-race-only specials for competition in the NHRA. These factory-backed Mustangs will sport a 3000 lb. curb weight, a 5.4 supercharged engine, rated by Ford at 400 horsepower, and a special wheel and graphics package to differentiate the car from typical Mustangs. Full press release after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Squint a bit, and let your imagination take over. The scoop, the C pillar, the profile. Izzat a Subaru? No, It couldn’t be, it sits too high…wait…nope, it’s not a Subaru-it’s a Ford-and it’s one worth calling design-foul looking over. Read the rest of this entry »

OMG. Hot. Legacy STI S402

May 16, 2008

This car screams hotness.  Of course, I also have a wagon fetish.  Subaru will be selling 402 of these beautiful cars.  Unfortunately, not in the US.  They will come in sedan and wagon (touring) variant.  Features 282hp, six speed manual tranny, subtle STI body work, six pot front and two pot rear Brembo brakes, gorgeous 18″ BBS wheels.  Check out CarScoop for more pictures.

What you are looking at is the most bad ass version of the Veyron.  The Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir.  It’s apparently an an homage to the Bugatti Atlantique 57.  Only four of these were made, this one was spotted in Santa Monica.  Sang Noir, translates to “black blood.”  What is so special about this car, minus the fact that it is blacked out?  Well, I don’t know.  Our friends at autogespot, have a few more pictures on their site.

Bart found these, who knows where, I am sure he ripped them off.  So, if you took these photos, shoot me an email and I will credit you.  What you are seeing here, is #1 of 20 Reventon.  It’s coming from VW’s Lambroghini’s plant in Mexico Italy and being delivered to Lambo of Las Vegas.  Judging by the cargo shorts and the dark socks, there also appears to be a Canadian present at the delivery. ;)

Spyshots of the Spyker Aileron

April 23, 2008

This one is for Leigh, a contributor and photographer who joined me at NYIAS, she stood and drooled over the modest Spyker display.

Anyways, Emil, from autogespot sent this through thinking it might be of interest to our American readers.  Apparently the Aileron is powered by an Audi-sourced 400hp engine.  As you can see this “spy shot” is more a shot of a test mule.  The car has the C8 front end, but the ass-end just looks all sorts of messed up.

Anyone here a fan of the Spykers?  I like them, but I was never a huge fan of them.  For the $200,000+ price point I can think of a lot of other things I would like to buy…namely a Nissan GTR, a Cayenne GTS and an 08 STI, the remaining $14,000 I would just put in the bank.  ;)

The Lancia Delta has came a long way

April 22, 2008

Hmmmm.  Remember that Lancia Delta you probably got stuck with at one point while playing Gran Turismo?  Remember how bull-dogged it looked?  Remember how the hips flared out and the quad headlights glared at you?

Now take all of those memories and crush them up.  Because now the Lancia Delta is all dressed up.  The designers went all Queer Eye for the Straight Guy on this car.  I am not saying I dislike the new Delta, it looks pretty cool.  It’s just weird to see the name Delta associated with it.

Plenty more pictures on the French site, autogespot.  Thanks for the tip, Emil!
