Live Coverage of the 2008 24 Hours of Lemons Race from Toledo, OH

I won’t mince words- here’s a clear shot of the rear of the 2010 Mustang, due to be totally revealed in November. A revised tail panel, lights, rear fascia and hunched, Challenger-esque “shoulders” are apparent in this shot. See more from forum member V8Limited over at The Mustang Source HERE. Make the jump to see one more shot. Read the rest of this entry »

Participating in 24 Hours of LeMons, requires a lot of diligence, primarily, following a ton of rules and actually adhering to the $500 rule (safety equipment doesn’t count). Below is our story on the 1991 Saab 9000 we will be running in LeMons.
Official: we ain’t bullshitting, proof documentation
Unlike the other Nancies, who somehow managed to run Ford Mustang Cobras or late model Impalas, we opted to actually follow the rules.
Unfortunately, being the “good guys” was a difficult f’ing task. Cheating would have been much more fruitful.
So here’s the back story. We picked up this 1991 Saab 9000 as a group of friends, last last year; our intention was to turn it into a track rat and rallyx car. Then we got bored. Some of us got married. Others of us had engagements canceled. In other words, shit happened. Keep going, more after the jump.

You may remember back in December when culture|garage announced that they would be attempting the 24 Hours of LeMons in Toledo, OH. Hell, we even called out Autoblog and Jalopnik and challenged them to a duel. Unfortunately, they Nancied out and won’t be competing in Toledo.
Well not only are we competing, but we will also be updating live during the race. Expect our coverage to be just like the NYIAS, quick but less substantial then all the other blogs.
And if you want to join the team, shoot us an email and we can meet up. So you want to follow along? Just keep your eye’s planted on culturegarage.com or visit this link.

I’ve owned my Saab 9-2X since June 2005 and it’s never been waxed or clayed, but washed regularly, at least once every 2 weeks. (Don’t flame me!) I simply don’t have the time to be rubbing out my car in the shade for it to be super shiny and smooth as it’s parked in the street all year long and all that work would be wasted, plus I have no experience with orbital buffers, claying, polishing, and whatnot. I’d do more damage to that paint than good. Read the rest of this entry »

Here’s a hint of what is to come. Our 24 Hours of Lemons team is getting closer and closer to d-day. We pick up the RV on Thursday and then begin the trek to wonderful Toledo. Who knows if we will have the best car. But it is undeniable that we will have the best looking car.
Full pictures to come post paint and graphics. In the mean time, feel free to pick up a Cougar Bait team shirt from our merchandise store.

You have to be kidding me. I was just reading about this in some advertising trade press and thought I would share. This furry little guy is designed to relieve “pressure points” around the swimsuit zone. Just have a watch. ![]()

I was at a high speed track day this weekend, hoping to give the Lemons car it’s first shakedown run. Unfortunately, the car didn’t start. So, I ended up just going up in my 9-3. Which was quite a bit of fun. Unfortunately, a Ford GT driver didn’t get to have as much fun.
His muffler seperated at the seams and began melting the bumper, frying the wiring for the brakes, and just generally causing havoc. The thumbnail below shows a closer shot of where the muffler seperated. The owner certainly wasn’t thrilled but he also wasn’t bitter. It’s kind of one of those pay to play things.
